Murphy has led entertainment projects end-to-end, as well as specialized in post.
Sample recent work
Port Protection
Murphy served as a post-production Story Producer on the two most recent seasons of the NatGeo/Disney+ unscripted series.
Duties included taking raw footage and crafting it into stories, managing associate producers and editors, tracking and executing network notes, attending online/grading sessions, and delivering locked
cuts with title and episode descriptions for air.
Instant Dream Home
Murphy was a Story Producer in post-production for the recently launched, heartwarming unscripted home renovation series for Netflix.
The role entailed shepherding every element of the episode from raw to finish, including finding, tracking and releasing external assets and footage, stringing scenes, managing creation and delivery of motion graphics, scheduling cuts, viewings, and feedback sessions, tracking and executing notes from multiple stakeholders, and managing a team of editors to deliver the final locked episode.
Wipeout
The newly relaunched, classic unscripted obstacle course/comedy for TBS called for significant chops for the whole post-production team. As a story producer, that meant editing, story arcs, branding talent/teams,
and managing a team of editors and associate producers.
Kingdom Come
Murphy conceived of this documentary featuring such Hollywood talent as Mark Ruffalo and Don Cheadle and produced, directed, and edited the film, which the team sold to Showtime.
Soup to nuts on this project, Murphy did everything from talent outreach, securing on-camera participants, lighting and shooting interviews, filming b roll, legal and contract supervision, video editing, music licensing, and spearheading the doc’s release to film festivals and network & digital premiere.
